Project S37 – NCS – LoRA (Logistics Robotic Assistant)

The Innovative Delivery Solution

LoRA (Logistics Robotic Assistant) is a modular and scalable transport robot designed to streamline the delivery of medicine and goods within hospitals, leveraging an innovative pick-and-deposit technology to reduce menial labour.

Introducing Project S37 – NCS – LoRA (Logistics Robotic Assistant)

LoRA is a transport robot that provides autonomous medicine delivery in hospital settings, allowing flexible drop-off and pick-up of items without human help and enabling nurses to focus more on patients.

Project Roadmap

Empathize

The healthcare industry faces problems in manpower shortage and heavy workloads which place a burden on its workers and the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the situation. By reducing the time taken for menial labor such as delivering medicines, nurses’ well-being is enhanced, which will also affect their quality of service towards patients.

Define

With the existing problems in the healthcare field, a fully autonomous robotic delivery system was created to address the problem of eliminating the need for human intervention in the last mile delivery of existing indoor medicine delivery systems within hospital premises by utilising robots and non-powered shelves.

Solution

The delivery system consists of the Software System, which is seamlessly integrated into the Robot System, LoRA (Logistics Robotic Assistant), and the Shelf System. These components work together to provide a comprehensive solution for a fully autonomous medicine delivery within hospitals.

Our Features:

Seamless App Connectivity

LoRA’s web application seeks to provide ease of use for nurses utilising LoRA’s delivery system. The application provides features such as delivery creation, delivery status viewing, cancellation, and many more.

Real-time Monitoring

LoRA’s web application allows nurses to monitor the robot’s delivery progress in real-time through an intuitive map feature.

Autonomous
Medicine Delivery

LoRA is able to navigate its way around the hospital, and both load and unload items without the need for human intervention.

User Journey

1. Creating delivery

Nurses at receiving station create a delivery request using LoRA Web Application

2. Accepting delivery

Nurses at medicine dispensary accepts request and places medicine inside the source shelf

3. Executing delivery

Robot collects items and starts delivery towards medicine dispensary

4. Receiving delivery

After robot arrives at receiving station and deposits items, nurse at medicine dispensary receives notification of delivery completion
