The journey of Brewa is one of rigorous research, innovative design, and meticulous testing. Through simulations, experiments, and physical prototypes, we’ve refined our product to meet the highest standards of efficiency and feasibility.
Brewa can effectively capture and disperse wind, and dissipate heat for enhanced thermal comfort. Its modular design and compatibility with traditional bricks can adapt to fit any wall of any size.
We believe that Brewa has been a significant step towards passive ventilation and paves the way for eco-friendly building designs that prioritize sustainability and energy efficiency in the context of Singapore and beyond.
Potential applications of Brewa extend beyond homes and offices.
Protected Areas with sensitive information can utilize Brewa to cool enclosed spaces without compromising privacy.
Data Centres which requires large amounts of cooling can also incorporate Brewa into their exteriors for better cooling.
We, the members of the Capstone 9, Project SC03, take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have been instrumental in the successful completion of our capstone project, titled “Termite Mound Inspired Wall Panels.”
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Anuj for providing us with the opportunity to work on this project. His expertise, guidance, and unwavering support were essential in shaping our research and development process. Dr. Anuj’s dedication to fostering young talent and pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge have inspired us all.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Zheng Kai, whose invaluable advice and encouragement have been a constant source of motivation for our team. His insights and mentorship were critical in ensuring the quality and rigour of our research and prototyping.
This project has been a labour of passion, perseverance, and collaboration. We are proud of what we have achieved, and we are deeply thankful to all who played a role in making it possible. Your support has been essential in helping us turn our vision into a reality.
Vote for our project at the exhibition! Your support is vital in recognizing our creativity. Join us in celebrating innovation and contributing to our success. Thank you for being part of our journey!
At Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), we believe that the power of design roots from the understanding of human experiences and needs, to create for innovation that enhances and transforms the way we live. This is why we develop a multi-disciplinary curriculum delivered v ia a hands-on, collaborative learning pedagogy and environment that concludes in a Capstone project.
The Capstone project is a collaboration between companies and senior-year students. Students of different majors come together to work in teams and contribute their technology and design expertise to solve real-world challenges faced by companies. The Capstone project will culminate with a design showcase, unveiling the innovative solutions from the graduating cohort.
The Capstone Design Showcase is held annually to celebrate the success of our graduating students and their enthralling multi-disciplinary projects they have developed.
