SecondPlace is a digital thrift marketplace that connects thrift stores and buyers, making secondhand fashion more accessible, discoverable, and appealing. By streamlining inventory management and offering personalized recommendations, we create a seamless shopping experience for modern consumers.

Motivation

The fashion industry is the second-largest consumer of water and responsible for up to 8% of global carbon emissions. Over $500 billion worth of quality clothing goes to waste yearly, fueling landfill overflow. It’s time to rethink how we consume and manage clothing.

How do we change?

Thrift stores offer a powerful way to extend the life of clothing. Popular among Gen Z and Millennials, they sit at the intersection of sustainability and fashion—making them ideal champions in the fight against textile waste.

However, thrift stores face key challenges in reaching more buyers and scaling their impact.
